- 4 fillets salmon About 6 ounces each.
- ¼ cup brown sugar Packed.
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic Minced.
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger Or 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated.
- to taste salt
- to taste pepper
- as needed lemon wedges For serving.
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper if desired for easier cleanup.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, soy sauce, olive oil, minced garlic, ground ginger, salt, and pepper until well combined to form a glaze.
Place the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet, skin side down. Brush the glaze generously over the top of each fillet.
Allow the salmon to marinate for about 5 minutes for more intense flavor, if desired.
Bake the salmon in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and the glaze is caramelized.
Remove the salmon from the oven and let it rest for a couple of minutes. Serve with lemon wedges on the side.
You can also grill the salmon using the same glaze for a smoky flavor. Adjust the amount of brown sugar and soy sauce according to your sweetness preference. For extra flavor, consider adding sesame seeds or chopped green onions as a garnish before serving.
