Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 package taco seasoning 1 oz package
  • 1 cup cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 can black beans 15 oz, drained and rinsed
  • 1 cup salsa
  • ½ cup chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a frying pan over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  • Add the taco seasoning to the ground beef, and stir in ½ cup of water. Simmer for about 5 minutes until the mixture thickens.
  • In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, cheddar cheese, and Monterey Jack cheese until well blended.
  • Add in the black beans and salsa to the cheese mixture. Stir until fully combined.
  • Layer the ground beef mixture into the bottom of a 9x9-inch baking dish. Spread the cheese mixture evenly over the top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until the dip is hot and bubbling.
  • Once done, remove from the oven and garnish with chopped green onions.
  • Serve warm with tortilla chips or fresh veggies for dipping.

Notes

You can customize this dip by adding other ingredients such as jalapeños for extra spice, or diced tomatoes for freshness.
This dip can also be made in advance and stored in the fridge. Just bake it before serving.
For a lighter version, you can use ground turkey and reduced-fat cream cheese and sour cream.
