1 mixing bowl
1 plastic wrap
1 serving platter
1 serving utensils
- 8 oz cream cheese softened
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese shredded
- ½ cup dried cranberries chopped
- ½ cup pecans finely chopped
- ¼ cup green onions finely sliced
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- Extra as needed chopped pecans for coating (if desired)
In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and shredded cheddar cheese. Mix until well blended and creamy.
Add the chopped dried cranberries, chopped pecans, green onions, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to the cheese mixture. Stir until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
Place a piece of plastic wrap on a flat surface and spoon the cheese mixture onto the wrap. Using the wrap, form the mixture into a ball shape.
Wrap the cheese ball tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to firm up.
If you want to coat the cheese ball, remove it from the plastic wrap and roll it in extra chopped pecans until evenly coated.
Place the cheese ball on a serving platter and serve with crackers, fruits, or vegetable sticks.
For a sweeter twist, you can mix in a tablespoon of honey or maple syrup. Feel free to substitute the pecans with walnuts or almonds if preferred. This cheese ball can be made a day in advance for convenience.
