  • multiple mixing bowls
  • 1 electric mixer or whisk
  • 1 rubber spatula
  • 1 cooling rack
  • 1 piping bags and tips
  • 1 scissors
  • 1 serving platter

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter Softened.
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 4 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 0.25 cup chocolate sprinkles
  • 12 pieces jelly bean candies For decoration.
  • 1 piece pink fondant For bunny ears.
  • 1 drop food coloring Pink.
  • 1 cup green shredded coconut Optional, for grass effect.

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour the round cake pans.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
  • Add the softened butter, milk, vanilla extract, and eggs to the dry ingredients. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed for about 2 minutes, until well combined.
  • Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
  • Once the cakes are completely cool, level the tops using a serrated knife if necessary.
  • Place one cake layer on your serving platter. Spread a layer of whipped cream on top. Place the second layer on top of the first.
  • To prepare the frosting, combine the powdered sugar, cocoa powder, and heavy whipping cream in a mixing bowl. Beat until fluffy and well combined.
  • Frost the entire cake with the chocolate frosting, smoothing it out with a spatula.
  • For the bunny features, use the pink fondant to create the bunny ears and attach them to the top of the cake.
  • Decorate the face using jelly beans for the eyes and nose, and use chocolate sprinkles to create the bunny's fur.
  • To create a 'grass' effect, sprinkle shredded coconut around the base of the cake if desired.

Notes

The fondant can be colored with food coloring to create vibrant bunny ears.
For a colorful touch, consider adding edible flowers around the cake for decoration.
This cake can be made a day in advance and stored in the refrigerator.
