Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour the round cake pans.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
Add the softened butter, milk, vanilla extract, and eggs to the dry ingredients. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed for about 2 minutes, until well combined.
Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
Once the cakes are completely cool, level the tops using a serrated knife if necessary.
Place one cake layer on your serving platter. Spread a layer of whipped cream on top. Place the second layer on top of the first.
To prepare the frosting, combine the powdered sugar, cocoa powder, and heavy whipping cream in a mixing bowl. Beat until fluffy and well combined.
Frost the entire cake with the chocolate frosting, smoothing it out with a spatula.
For the bunny features, use the pink fondant to create the bunny ears and attach them to the top of the cake.
Decorate the face using jelly beans for the eyes and nose, and use chocolate sprinkles to create the bunny's fur.
To create a 'grass' effect, sprinkle shredded coconut around the base of the cake if desired.
