  • 1 measuring cups and spoons
  • 1 whisk
  • 1 wooden spoon or spatula
  • 1 baking sheet
  • 1 parchment paper (optional)

Ingredients
  

  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour Plus more for dusting.
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon instant yeast
  • ¾ cup warm water 110°F.
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter Melted, plus more for brushing.

Instructions
 

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and instant yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes, until frothy.
  • Add the melted butter and salt into the yeast mixture. Stir to combine.
  • Gradually add in the flour, one cup at a time, mixing with a wooden spoon or spatula until a soft dough forms. You may need additional flour for dusting.
  • Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 2-3 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces and shape each piece into a ball.
  • Place the dough balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them close together. Cover with a clean kitchen towel and let rise in a warm spot for about 10 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • After the dough has risen, bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown on top.
  • Once done, remove from the oven and brush the tops with additional melted butter for extra flavor.
  • Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Feel free to add herbs or spices to the dough for added flavor.
These rolls can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days or frozen for later use.
Serve with butter, jam, or as a side to your favorite soups and salads.
