- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 8 small corn or flour tortillas
- 1 cup shredded cabbage
- ½ cup diced tomatoes
- ¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 1 medium avocado, diced
- 1 lime cut into wedges
- to taste hot sauce Optional for serving.
In a mixing bowl, combine chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, paprika, and salt. Add the shrimp and toss to coat evenly with the spice mixture.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side or until they turn pink and opaque. Remove from heat.
While the shrimp are cooking, warm the tortillas in a separate skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side, or until they are pliable.
To assemble the tacos, place a portion of cooked shrimp on each tortilla. Top with shredded cabbage, diced tomatoes, chopped cilantro, and diced avocado.
Serve the tacos with lime wedges and hot sauce, if desired.
Feel free to customize the toppings based on your preferences; options like diced onions, jalapeños, or sour cream can be added. Make sure the shrimp is cooked thoroughly before serving; they should be opaque throughout. These tacos are best enjoyed immediately, but you can also refrigerate leftover shrimp for up to 2 days. Reheat before serving.
