Equipment

  • 1 Grill or grill pan
  • 1 Meat thermometer
  • 1 Small bowl
  • 1 Basting brush
  • 1 Cutting board

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs beef steak preferably sirloin or picanha
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter softened
  • 6 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  • Preheat the grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  • In a small bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to create a garlic butter mixture.
  • Rub the beef steak with olive oil, and season generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.
  • Place the seasoned steak on the hot grill. Cook for about 4-6 minutes on one side, without moving it, to get a nice sear.
  • Flip the steak and continue cooking for another 4-6 minutes for medium-rare, or until it reaches your desired doneness (135°F/57°C for medium-rare).
  • Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for about 5 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.
  • While the steak is resting, warm the garlic butter mixture slightly in a microwave or on low heat until it becomes more pourable.
  • Slice the steak against the grain and drizzle the garlic butter mixture over the top before serving.

Notes

Feel free to adjust the amount of garlic based on your taste preference.
You can serve the steak with grilled vegetables or rice for a complete meal.
This dish pairs well with a glass of red wine.
