Equipment

  • 1 large skillet or wok
  • 1 wooden spatula or spoon
  • 1 measuring cups
  • 1 measuring spoons
  • 1 cutting board

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced or 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • ¼ cup water

Instructions

  • Prepare your ingredients by mincing the garlic and ginger, and chopping the broccoli into small florets if not already done.
  • In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  • Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a wooden spatula. Cook until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and ginger, cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Add the broccoli florets to the skillet, stirring to combine. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the broccoli is bright green and tender-crisp.
  • In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and water until well combined. Pour this sauce over the meat and broccoli mixture in the skillet.
  • Stir well to coat everything in the sauce and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  • Serve hot over cooked rice or noodles if desired.

Notes

For added spice, feel free to include red pepper flakes or a splash of sriracha in the sauce.
This dish can be made with other vegetables such as bell peppers, carrots, or snap peas.
