1 frying pan or skillet
1 spatula
1 knife
1 cutting board
1 grater (optional)
- 8 slices bread White or whole grain.
- 4 slices Swiss or mozzarella cheese
- 4 slices ham
- 1 cup canned pineapple chunks Drained.
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning Optional.
- Salt To taste.
- Pepper To taste.
Begin by heating a frying pan or skillet over medium heat.
If desired, sprinkle Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper over the ham slices.
Take 4 slices of bread and butter one side of each slice with 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter.
Place the buttered side down in the hot pan and layer each slice with one piece of cheese, followed by a slice of ham, some pineapple chunks, and another slice of cheese.
Top each sandwich with the remaining slices of bread, buttered side up.
Cook the sandwiches for about 3-4 minutes or until they are golden brown.
Carefully flip each sandwich with a spatula and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the other side is golden and the cheese is melted.
Remove the sandwiches from the pan and let them rest for a minute before slicing.
You can add additional toppings like jalapeños or bell peppers if you want some extra flavor. For a crispier sandwich, you can cook on lower heat for a longer time to ensure the cheese melts thoroughly while getting a nice crust on the bread. Complement your sandwich with a side salad or fresh fruit for a complete meal.
