1 skillet or frying pan
1 spatula
1 measuring spoons
1 cutting board
1 serving plate
- 4 fillets fish (such as cod, tilapia, or salmon) Approximately 6 ounces each.
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lemon juiced and zested
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped Optional, for garnishing.
Begin by patting the fish fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides of the fillets with salt and black pepper.
In a skillet, heat the butter over medium heat until melted and bubbling.
Add the minced garlic to the skillet, and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
Gently place the seasoned fish fillets in the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side, until they are golden brown.
Carefully flip the fish fillets using a spatula and pour the lemon juice and zest over them. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes on the other side until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
Once cooked, remove the fish from the skillet and place it on a serving plate. Drizzle any remaining butter and garlic from the skillet over the fillets.
Garnish with chopped parsley if desired, and serve hot with lemon wedges on the side.
You can serve this dish with steamed vegetables, rice, or a fresh side salad for a complete meal. Choose fish fillets that are fresh and not previously frozen for the best flavor and texture. Feel free to adjust the amount of garlic or lemon to suit your taste preferences.
