Equipment

  • 1 medium mixing bowl
  • 1 small mixing bowl
  • 1 whisk
  • 1 cookie sheet
  • 1 parchment paper
  • 1 paintbrush or small spatula
  • 1 toothpicks
  • 12 plastic Easter eggs (halved)

Ingredients

  • 12 pieces plastic Easter eggs (halved)
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips about 6 oz
  • 1 cup yellow candy melts about 6 oz
  • 1 cup black candy melts about 6 oz
  • ½ cup blue candy melts about 3 oz
  • 12 pieces miniature candy eyes
  • ¼ cup edible glitter or sprinkles optional

Instructions

  • Prepare your area by laying out parchment paper on a cookie sheet to place the decorated eggs on later.
  • Melt the white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  • Using a paintbrush or spatula, coat the interior of each plastic Easter egg half with melted white chocolate and place on the cookie sheet.
  • Refrigerate the coated eggs for about 30 minutes or until set.
  • Melt the yellow candy melts in a separate microwave-safe bowl, again in 30-second intervals, until smooth.
  • Carefully spoon or pour the yellow candy melts into the set white chocolate eggs, tilting to cover the interior completely.
  • Return the eggs to the fridge for another 30 minutes to allow the yellow candy to set.
  • Melt the black candy melts in a small bowl to create the Minion's goggles and mouth. Use a toothpick to apply a thin line around the egg for goggles and add a small dot for the mouth.
  • Quickly add the miniature candy eyes on top of each goggle before the chocolate sets. If desired, use melted blue candy melts to create Minion overalls at the bottom of the egg.
  • Sprinkle edible glitter or sprinkles over the eggs before the candy sets, if desired.
  • Allow the eggs to set completely before removing them from the mold. Serve as treats or decorations.
