Equipment

  • 1 large mixing bowl
  • 1 measuring cups and spoons
  • 1 wooden spoon or spatula
  • 1 clean kitchen towel
  • 1 rolling pin
  • 1 baking sheet or pizza stone
  • 1 oven

Ingredients

  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm water About 110°F or 43°C.
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water with sugar and active dry yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  • Add the olive oil and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix well.
  • Gradually incorporate the all-purpose flour, stirring with a wooden spoon until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl and cover it with a clean kitchen towel. Let it rise in a warm environment for about 15 minutes or until it doubles in size.
  • Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
  • After the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
  • Transfer the rolled-out dough to a baking sheet or pizza stone. Add your favorite pizza sauce and toppings.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding herbs into the dough, such as garlic powder, oregano, or Italian seasoning.
If you prefer a thinner crust, roll out the dough thinner, and for a thicker crust, keep it a bit thicker while rolling.
Feel free to experiment with different toppings for your perfect pizza!
