Equipment

  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 baking sheet
  • 1 parchment paper or silicone baking mat (optional)
  • 1 measuring cups and spoons
  • 1 spoon or cookie scoop

Ingredients

  • 1 pound breakfast sausage
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and breakfast sausage. Mix until well-blended and smooth.
  • Add the shredded cheddar cheese, flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, black pepper, and salt to the sausage mixture. Stir until everything is evenly combined and forms a dough-like consistency.
  • Using a spoon or cookie scoop, scoop out portions of the mixture and roll them into balls (about the size of a golf ball). Place each ball on the prepared baking sheet, spaced about 1 inch apart.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the sausage balls are golden brown and cooked through.
  • Once cooked, remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

These sausage balls are best enjoyed fresh out of the oven but can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
You can customize the flavors by adding herbs or spices of your choice, or by using different types of cheese.
For a spicy kick, consider using hot breakfast sausage or adding red pepper flakes to the mixture.
