- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
- 1 cup cocktail sauce
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon horseradish sauce optional
- fresh lemon wedges for garnish
- fresh parsley for garnish
Start by filling a large pot with water and adding the lemon juice and Old Bay seasoning. Bring the water to a boil over high heat.
Once the water is boiling, carefully add the shrimp. Boil for about 2-3 minutes, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.
Use a slotted spoon to remove the shrimp from the pot and transfer them to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Let them cool for a few minutes.
While the shrimp are cooling, prepare the cocktail sauce by mixing together the cocktail sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and horseradish sauce in a separate bowl. Adjust to taste.
Once the shrimp are chilled, drain them from the ice water and pat them dry with a paper towel.
Arrange the shrimp on a serving platter and serve with the cocktail sauce on the side. Garnish with fresh lemon wedges and parsley.
For an extra kick, you can add more horseradish to the cocktail sauce according to your taste preference. Feel free to serve the shrimp in individual cocktail glasses for a more elegant presentation. If you're preparing this dish in advance, be sure to keep the shrimp refrigerated until ready to serve.
