In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix until well combined, about 2-3 minutes.
In another bowl, whip the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
Pour half of the chocolate cake batter into the prepared pan and smooth it out evenly.
Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the chocolate batter, then sprinkle the chopped strawberries and chocolate chips on top.
Pour the remaining chocolate batter over the filling and gently swirl with a knife to create an 'earthquake' effect.
Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow to cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares.
