Equipment

  • 1 large skillet or wok
  • 1 pot for boiling noodles
  • 1 colander
  • 1 measuring cups and spoons
  • 1 cutting board

Ingredients

  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup bell peppers, sliced any color
  • 1 cup carrots, julienned
  • 4 green onions, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • In a large pot of boiling water, cook the egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon (about 5-7 minutes). Drain excess fat if needed.
  • Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for 2-3 minutes or until the onion is translucent.
  • Add the sliced bell peppers, julienned carrots, and chopped green onions to the skillet. Cook for another 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, oyster sauce, and grated ginger. Pour this sauce over the cooked beef and vegetables in the skillet. Stir to combine.
  • Gently toss in the cooked egg noodles, ensuring they are evenly coated in the sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through.
  • Remove from heat and serve warm, garnishing with sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
Feel free to incorporate other vegetables such as broccoli or snap peas for added nutrition.
