Equipment

  • 1 roasting pan
  • 1 baking rack
  • 1 small bowl
  • 1 basting brush
  • 1 meat thermometer
  • 1 aluminum foil

Ingredients

  • 8 pounds fully cooked bone-in ham
  • 1 cup honey
  • ½ cup Dijon mustard
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
  • Place the ham on a roasting rack in a large roasting pan, cut side down.
  • In a small bowl, combine the honey, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, ground cloves, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix well to form a glaze.
  • Score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern, making shallow cuts about 1 inch apart.
  • Brush the glaze generously over the entire surface of the ham, ensuring it gets into the scored cuts.
  • Cover the ham loosely with aluminum foil and place it in the oven.
  • Bake for 2 hours, basting with the glaze every 30 minutes. Remove the foil for the last 30 minutes of cooking to allow the glaze to caramelize.
  • Check the internal temperature of the ham with a meat thermometer; it should read 140°F (60°C) when fully heated.
  • Once done, remove the ham from the oven and let it rest for about 15 minutes before carving.
  • Serve the glazed ham with your favorite sides for a festive meal.

Notes

You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey depending on your preference.
Serve with sides such as roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
Leftover ham can be used in sandwiches or salads for a delicious next-day meal.
