Ingredients
  

  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough 8 oz.
  • 4 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 egg for egg wash
  • to taste optional icing for drizzling powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper if desired.
  • In a small mixing bowl, combine granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Set aside.
  • Open the crescent roll dough and unroll it on a clean surface. Separate the dough into triangles.
  • Brush each triangle with melted butter, then sprinkle a generous amount of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the dough.
  • Starting from the wide end, roll each triangle of dough up towards the point, forming a crescent shape. Gently twist the ends to create a spiral.
  • Place the twisted crescents on the prepared baking sheet. If desired, beat the egg in a small bowl and brush the tops of the twists with the egg wash.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Let the twists cool slightly before serving. Drizzle with icing if desired.

Notes

You can customize this recipe by adding nuts or raisins to the filling for added flavor.
For a fun variation, try using apple pie spice instead of cinnamon for a different taste.
